QUESTIONS
What to know about Alfred.
Who is Alfred for?
Alfred is for adults who want practical help with everyday life from a trusted family member, friend or supporter.
Can I try it without entering personal details?
Yes. Choose Try a sample board on the homepage to complete a quest and see a celebration, with no email needed. The sample uses a fictional person, keeps changes only in memory and starts over on refresh. It never opens or changes your saved boards. Photos are disabled in the sample.
What do Wynday, Alfred, the Study and HQ mean?
Wynday makes Alfred, the character who adds encouragement to the quest board. A quest is an everyday task, and a quest pack is a ready-made set of tasks. The Study is the supporter dashboard for all your boards. Manage opens a board's HQ, where you adjust its quests, rewards and dates. The person you support uses their own board link.
Does supporter sign in create an account?
Yes. Enter your name and email, open the newest sign-in message, then press Continue to my Study. One supporter account can manage several people. Your setup boards and drafts are available on another device when you use the same email. No password is needed; request a fresh link to return.
Does the supported person need an account?
No. A board link opens a copy in their browser. The supported person does not need to sign in or enter a PIN; anyone with the link can read the board.
What does supporter preview show?
Preview shows the quest-board experience with editing disabled. This is a browser-only preview, not a separate authenticated account.
Is Alfred medical care?
No. Alfred does not provide medical care, medication management, crisis monitoring, or emergency services.
What does it cost?
Billing is coming soon. Wynday is free to explore for now. Paid plans are not available yet, and no payment details are collected. The supported person is never charged.
What can the supported person do?
Complete quests, make a task smaller, set it aside for today, add personal plans and work hours, and change the appearance of their board.
Does progress sync between devices?
Supporter setup boards and drafts sync to their account. Recipient progress does not sync between devices or back to the supporter. Shared links carry a snapshot of the configuration; personal plans and progress stay on each device.
Can I use my board without an internet connection?
An already-open board can save quests, check-ins, local photos, rewards and plans while disconnected. Keep that tab open if your connection drops. You need an internet connection to reliably open or reload the app. Reconnecting keeps progress in the same browser; it does not sync it to another device.
How do check-ins and rewards work?
After a quest, an optional photo or short reflection earns 5 extra XP once. Photos stay in this browser and can be deleted from Progress. Reflection text is not stored. Each level-up earns one choice from your agreed reward menu; XP is never spent. Arrange rewards together because choices do not sync between devices.
Is Alfred connected to AI or email?
Alfred's encouragement is written in advance, not generated by AI. Supporter sign-in uses email, but Alfred cannot read an inbox. AI assistance, inbox connections and document help are still in development. Photos are stored only on your device, without automated verification.
Will my previous Wynday boards still be there?
Old browser boards remain available through Open saved boards at the same site address. To add them to your verified supporter account, use Import boards from this browser in the Study and explicitly select them. wynday.com and www.wynday.com keep separate saved copies, so check Open saved boards at both addresses if a board seems missing. Older board links work on the device where those boards were saved. Opening the other address does not move or merge progress.
How do I back up or restore my progress?
Open More → Backup & recovery on your board and download a backup. It includes quests, XP, rewards, history, dates and personal plans. Keep the file private: it is not encrypted. Restore from the same screen or Open saved boards. You preview the file first, and an existing board with the same ID is kept unchanged. This does not sync devices. Photo files stay on their original device and are not included; earned photo XP is preserved.
What happens if I clear my browser data?
Locally saved boards and progress may be lost. A shared board link can reopen its configuration, but it does not back up progress or personal plans. Download a backup beforehand if you want to restore that progress later. Photo files cannot be recovered from the backup.
